WASHINGTON, D.C. — Since so much policy associated with financial reform has yet to be spelled out by federal regulators, the American Bankers Association recently launched a new online resource aimed at keeping members up to date.

The association explained the Dodd-Frank Tracker is geared to take many views of the implementation progress for the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Officials described this site as one that takes "both a big-picture and a piece-by-piece approach."

ABA believes this site can break down the act's implementation into numerous components and allow users to follow specific Dodd-Frank issues. As implementation of the legislation progresses, officials pointed out the Dodd-Frank Tracker is set to be updated to reflect the most recent developments in each particular area.

Furthermore, the site also provides an archive of ABA's work during the process and highlights the expanding resources the association offers its members. These features include news stories on act proposals, comment letters and rules, and a full-page, interactive calendar noting implementation dates and comment deadlines.

The association also created a special sections on key Dodd-Frank Act issues, such as interchange, deposit insurance and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Users can have new content delivered directly to them via an RSS feed or e-mail as soon as it is posted to the tracker.

Wayne Abernathy, ABA's executive vice president for financial institutions policy and regulatory affairs, emphasized the Dodd-Frank Tracker is meant to be a dynamic tool for communicating to members and keeping them informed.

"When it comes to Dodd-Frank Act implementation, bankers want to know what is going on now, in the near future and what has recently happened," Abernathy declared.

"And they want to know the latest every day. This new online resource will communicate all the things that ABA knows and is doing related to the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act," he added.
