HOUSTON , Texas — The National Alliance of Buy-Here, Pay-Here Dealers announced the introduction of a new technology program called Skips to Cash. It's designed to help BHPH operators nationwide in locating, recovering and liquidating bad debt skips.

The Skips to Cash program is facilitated by All Technology Recovery and pulls on alliances with Digital Recognition Network, Recovery Database Network, OPENLANE and Locater USA.

Via professional recovery agents, which includes American Recovery Association members, the program will use DRN's LRP 2.0 (license plate recognition) technology to help find collateral and recover the vehicle.

After recovery, the dealer can liquidate via OPENLANE, or transport the unit back to the dealership. This effort is facilitated through the around-the-clock services of ATR.

Through the NABD site, alliance members can assign all skip accounts, and all required information is electronically submitted to place a unit in the Skips to Cash program.

ATR will then check each lost vehicle for lien loss, storage lien sale bankruptcy, active exemptions or impoundment.

When due diligence is completed, ATR will enter the skip vehicle into the DRN through the RDN platform. Once the tag number is entered, DRN camera operators nationwide will begin scanning for the lost vehicle.

Once the vehicle is recovered, NABD member operators can decide what to do with the unit.

"This program allows operators to mitigate their losses on a very cost-effective basis," explained Ken Shilson, NABD president and founder. "The companies involved and the innovative technology being used benefits buy-here, pay-here operators at a time when they must maximize their cash flow and control losses."

The Skips to Cash program is active and accessible through www.bhphinfo.com. Furthermore, the program will be discussed at the NABD Dealer Academy on May 16-17, as well as during the National BHPH Conference May 18-20. Both events will be held in Las Vegas.

Representatives from all the companies involved with the new program will be at the events to answer dealer questions and offer more information.
