McLEAN, Va. and SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Military.com, the membership organization that serves active duty personnel in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, reservists, guard members, retirees, veterans, family members and defense workers, is now working with TrueCar.

The arrangement is geared to provide Military.com members with competitive pricing and a hassle-free online vehicle buying services.

Site officials highlighted TrueCar powers the mobile and online vehicle-buying marketplace for more than 60 membership and service organizations such as USAA, AAA and American Express and has helped consumers save more than $1 billion off the MSRP on new models.

The program is designed to offer users a comprehensive online resource to research new and used vehicles, the ability to configure a virtual vehicle down to the options and to see competitive upfront price quotes for that vehicle from trusted dealers in their local area.

To date, TrueCar contends its technology has facilitated the sale of more than 300,000 vehicles through a nationwide network of more than 5,000 certified dealers.

"Our alliance with TrueCar directly benefits the military car shopper," stated T. McCreary, president of Military.com.

"This new functionality will allow better visibility on pricing, guidance on the best dealerships, and will alert our members about special deals or discounts available because of their service in the military," McCreary continued.

TrueCar chief executive officer Scott Painter discussed the deal, stating, "We are extremely proud to be associated with Military.com to provide their members, who are comprised of our nation's military service men and women, with a program that not only delivers convenience in the car buying experience, but also provides considerable cash savings."
