WASHINGTON, D.C. — It was announced last week that the Consumer Bankers Association has plans to relocate.

The association’s new headquarters will be in in Washington, D.C. As one of the only national trade associations focused on retail banking, the CBA has been headquartered in Arlington, Va., for close to three decades.

So, why the move?

“The decision to move was made to position CBA closer to member banks and Capitol Hill, increase advocacy efforts and accommodate the expansion of CBA’s team as we continue to offer exemplary programs for our members,” officials explained.

And as of Tuesday, the CBA’s new address will be 1225 Eye St. NW, Ste. 550, Washington, D.C. 20005.

Commenting on the news, CBA’s president, Richard Hunt, noted, “Moving into the district to be closer to our membership was critical to us. Establishing a permanent presence in downtown Washington is a strategic move for CBA, placing us in the heart of the nation’s capital and allowing us to continue to expand our advocacy efforts.

"Our new location accommodates our growth and from this vantage point we hope to continue to optimize the services we offer our member banks,” he concluded.
