Top Consumer Finance Attorney Returns to Hudson Cook
HANOVER, Md. — Hudson Cook recently announced a partner is
returning to the firm to focus his practice on federal and state consumer
financial services laws with particular emphasis in automotive financing.
Coming back after a most-recent stint as counsel at Ally
Bank is Thomas Buiteweg, who will be a partner at the Hudson Cook's Ann Arbor,
Mich., office.
Along with that previous time with Hudson Cook, Buiteweg also
has worked as legal counsel for GMAC where he managed the legal staff's
consumer automotive finance group. He
was a member of the working group that developed standards for electronic motor
vehicle retail installment sale and lease contracts.
Buiteweg is the current co-chair of the personal property
financing subcommittee of the American Bar Association's consumer financial
services committee. He is also a member
of the governing committee for the Conference on Consumer Finance Law and a
certified public accountant.
