HANOVER, Md. — Along with more details about its annual
conference this spring, the National Vehicle Leasing Association recently
announced the appointment of its new accounting counsel.

Tapped for the role is Mike North, who is a director with
the accounting firm of Katz, Sapper & Miller. North supervises audits,
reviews financial statements and prepares tax returns for both dealerships and
finance and leasing companies.

In addition North is involved in advising clients in tax,
accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal control matters and serves on
the firm's dealership services groups.

NVLA executive director Jack Tracey said, "NVLA is very
pleased to have Mike join the Association. Mike is very knowledgeable in lease
accounting and will be available to provide accounting counsel to all of our
members."

Previously, Paul Doyle of the TABS Group, served the
association's accounting counsel for many years. Tracey indicated Doyle will
continue to serve the association as accounting counsel emeritus.

North will make his
first appearance as accounting counsel at the upcoming NVLA Conference on April
22—24 at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. He will
provide an update on both financial reporting and tax issues impacting the
leasing industry. The session will include pending regulatory changes involving
leases, financial reporting and recent federal income tax changes.

Registration is now open for the conference, which Tracy
said provides the most comprehensive program for the auto leasing industry with
speakers, sessions and valuable discussions on issues relevant to independent
consumer and commercial fleet lessors.

Besides North's presentation, other speakers scheduled to
appear include:

—Tom Webb, chief economist at Manheim, who will present the
economic outlook for the used-car market and vehicle leasing.

—Roger Camping, president of RC Auto Corp., who will lead a
discussion on brokered leasing.

—Kelly Kirkendoll, founder and president of Thrive PR, who
will present tactics for keeping your leasing company's name foremost in the
marketplace.

—Ricky Beggs, managing editor of Black Book, who will give
an analysis of market segments for new-vehicle fleet lessors

Tracey also highlighted attendees will again have the
opportunity to participate in a specialized lease-here, pay0here program track.
He said the track will comprehensively cover insurance, legal, accounting
technology and funding aspects of the market.

"Each year, this event brings together the vehicle leasing
industry for education, networking and an opportunity to meet with exhibitors
who have products and services that support the industry," Tracey said.
