REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Some of the May metrics included in
the latest RDN Monthly Analytics Update reversed course from the downward
movement reported a month earlier.

Analysts indicated May recovery volumes ticked up 2
percentage points versus the April level. Looking year-over-year, the May
volumes figure moved 7 percentage points higher than the year-earlier mark.

However, RDN still noticed more declining patterns in terms
of recovery orders.

May recovery orders edged 1 percentage point below the
previous month, and the May order rate dipped 5 percentage points lower
year-over-year.

The RDN Recovery Market Trend Summary – a rolling comparison
of new- and used-vehicle buyer's FICO scores against the percentage volume of
recovered vehicles relative to the volume of vehicle sales financed – showed
the volume of recoveries relative to retail new- and used-vehicles financed
decreased during May versus the prior month.

Recovery volumes as a percentage of sales financed ended at
a 23 index level in May, which represents a 2 percentage point drop from the
prior month but 1 percentage point rise versus the prior year.

Analysts mentioned FICO scores for new- and used-vehicles
buyers experienced a year-plus plunge from a high in January 2010 with a
recovery beginning in May 2011, and May represented a slight increase from
April.

RDN went on to mention that among the top 20 largest cities
with the highest recovery volumes, seven posted month-over-month gains. That
group included:

—Charlotte, N.C.: up 14 percent

—San Jose, Calif.: up 7 percent

—Indianapolis: up 5 percent

—New York: up 4 percent

—Boston: up 3 percent

—Detroit: up 2 percent

—Fort Worth, Texas: up 2 percent

Unlike April when a dozen cities had month-over-month drops
of at least 10 percent, RDN discovered only three cities fell into that
category in May, including San Francisco (down 16 percent), Los Angeles (down
14 percent) and Houston (down 13 percent).

Finally, RDN pointed out that once again Texas led the
nation with the highest volume of involuntary recoveries at 12 percent of the
nation's total for May, a little less than 6,900 units. The company added that
Texas, Florida and California constituted 29 percent of all recoveries
nationwide for the month.

The Sunshine State also paced the country with the highest
volume of voluntary recoveries at a little less than 1,300 units recovered
during May.
