DriveTime Enters Washington DC Market with Newest Store
As the company continues to ramp up its Cancel Anytime lease program that allows a vehicle return without consequence should personal financial problems arise, DriveTime ventured near Capitol Hill for its next store opening, unveiling a first location in the Washington, D.C. area.
Recognizing a need in the marketplace, DriveTime highlighted it opened the newest store in its chain of buy-here, pay-here dealerships in Marlow Heights, Md., just outside of the Capital Beltway at 4601 Saint Barnabas Road, Suite B.
Company executives indicated the new location and planned growth will bring upwards of 20 jobs to the area during the next year.
In addition to a retail location holding more than 95 vehicle in inventory, DriveTime established a local inspection center where incoming vehicles are rigorously tested prior to being placed on the lot with an eye toward both safety and reliability.
“We’re thrilled to be expanding our efforts into exciting new markets like Washington, D.C.,” said Jason Garcia, managing director of retail at DriveTime.
“Over the next few months, we’ll be bringing our unique and transparent approach to used-car buying and leasing to more customers giving them additional options to find a vehicle that works for them,” Garcia continued.
DriveTime pointed out that 20 percent of U.S. have credit scores below 620, while 35 percent have non-mortgage debt in collection.
With those stats in mind, DriveTime is not only growing its store footprint to 120 locations, but also putting more resources into its Cancel Anytime lease program. BHPH Report recently caught up with DriveTime senior managing director of retail operations Lance Spotleson, who described how the company is progressing with this program.
