Toyota earns title of Canada’s Most Trusted Car Brand in AutoTrader Awards

What’s the most trusted vehicle in Canada?

According to AutoTrader, it’s a Toyota. The Japanese automaker claimed six of the 28 categories in the annual AutoTrader Awards, including the award for Canada’s Most Trusted Car Brand.

Toyota’s vehicle segment winners included the Camry for Best Family Sedan, the Grand Highlander and its hybrid for Best Mid-Size SUV, the Sienna for Best Minivan, the Prius for Best Hybrid and the Prius PHEV for Best PHEV.

That said, Toyota claimed none of the three best overall vehicle awards. The Honda Civic and its hatchback and hybrid variants claimed Best Overall Car honors, while the Ford Maverick/hybrid was named Best Overall Truck and the Kia EV9 won as Best Overall SUV and Best Overall Green Vehicle.

The award winners, with the exception of the Canada’s Most Trusted Car Brand, are selected by an expert jury of more than 20 automotive journalists from all over the country, who vote for the vehicles they feel they can most confidently recommend to family and friends.

The Most Trusted Car Brand award is decided by a third-party survey of 1,505 Canadian consumers.

“As the country’s leading and most trusted automotive marketplace, AutoTrader is dedicated to empowering Canadians during their car-buying journey,” AutoTrader editor-in-chief Jodi Lai said. “So it’s important that we are also source of unbiased and trustworthy car advice, and that’s what these awards are all about.”

AutoTrader said the award-winning vehicles “go above and beyond what’s expected based on factors such as value, practicality, user-friendliness, performance, safety, innovation, overall excellence and more.

“We know picking a new vehicle can be overwhelming because there are so many good options competing for your hard-earned dollars,” Lai said. “AutoTrader Awards are here to take out some of the guesswork and are a solid jumping-off point for someone researching their next vehicle.”
