AutoCanada announced an acquisition Tuesday that can help strengthen the retailer’s service and repair operations.

The company has purchased DCCHail, which is a Canadian paintless dent repair company that specializes in insurance claim management and fixing vehicles damaged by hail.

DCCHail has a nationwide footprint and its Calgary hail repair facility is Canada’s largest, AutoCanada said. DCCHail generates more than $15 million in revenue.

AutoCanada funded the purchase through a drawdown of its credit facility. Its current management team will continue running the company.

“We’re excited to add this well-managed hail damage repair operation to our network, providing a vertical integration opportunity that will allow us to take greater control of the repair process and expand this business across markets in Canada and the U.S. by leveraging our current dealership, parts & service and collision centre platforms,” AutoCanada executive chairman Paul Antony said in a news release.

“We are also pleased to welcome the high quality DCCHail team to the AutoCanada family and we look forward to continuing its legacy into the future,” Antony said.
