Canadian CPO sales update through October
The record streak continues for Hyundai Canada’s H-Promise certified pre-owned program. Its dealers moved 1,207 CPO units last month, which was the program’s best October ever.
Hyundai has now gone five consecutive months with CPO sales representing a high for that respective month, said Charles Plewes, who is the company’s manager of CPO and remarketing.
That has been the case for seven of the 10 months so far in 2020
“A strong used-vehicle market along with growing Hyundai dealer participation in the program continue to pay dividends,” Plewes said in an email.
Subaru Canada sold 587 certified vehicles in October, up from 403 in October 2019. It has moved 3,796 CPO units so far this year, up from 3,420 a year ago.
Next up, Nissan had 1,048 CPO sales in October, down from 1,395 a year ago. Through 10 months, it has moved 9,282 certified sales, compared to 13,110 in the same period of 2019.
Infiniti moved 156 certified vehicles for the month, compared to 176 in October 2019. Year-to-date sales are at 1,359, compared to 1,704 through 10 months of 2019.
At Volvo Car Canada, its Certified by Volvo program had 411 sales in October for a 66% uptick. That was paired with a 25% increase in sales on the new-car side in October.
“Last month represented another outstanding performance for Volvo Cars in Canada where we saw five months of consecutive sales growth within our retail and pre-owned sales channels,” said Matt Girgis, managing director of Volvo Cars Canada, in a news release. “Attributing this performance to the dedication of our customers, team and retailers across the country, we are encouraged to see such strong results as we begin the fourth quarter.”
