OpenRoad to celebrate 25th anniversary with 25 grants to charitable organizations
OpenRoad Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary by giving.
OpenRoad Foundation, the dealership group’s philanthropic arm, announced the launch of its 25 in 25 grant initiative for 2025, which will award 25 grants of $25,000 each – a total of $625,000 – to nonprofits and charities based in the Vancouver and Toronto areas.
“Celebrating 25 years of OpenRoad Group is not just about reflecting on our achievements as an organization, but also about recognizing our responsibility to drive positive change in the communities we serve,” said Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Group and chairman of OpenRoad Foundation’s board. “With our new OpenRoad Foundation 25 in 25 grant initiative, we hope to help 25 additional partners achieve their goals.”
The foundation said it is now accepting grant applications, which will be reviewed and awarded based on OpenRoad Foundation’s three core pillars.
Community: We believe that people should be empowered and given the opportunity to redefine what is possible for themselves and their communities.
Environment: We support initiatives that sustain our robust ecosystem.
Education: We support opportunities for academic success and leadership initiatives.
The 25 grant recipients will be selected by the OpenRoad Foundation board, an advisory committee and foundation manager Shea Studler. Applicants must have CRA nonprofit status and align with one or more of the three pillars.
OpenRoad Foundation has contributed more than $750,000 to 28 nonprofit organizations in British Columbia and Ontario since its founding in 2023.
“Our 25 in 25 grant initiative highlights what OpenRoad Foundation stands for: making meaningful contributions that reflect our shared values,” Studler said. “We encourage all eligible nonprofits and charities in Metro Vancouver and Greater Toronto to apply.”
