Advantage GPS made two announcements on Tuesday as operators gathered in Las Vegas for the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo.

Along with now being an NIADA National Corporate Partner, the provider of advanced GPS technology solutions and automotive analytics has launched SmartLot, an innovative inventory management and F&I solution designed specifically for independent dealers.

Advantage highlighted its expansion into the retail sector with its GPS and telematics technologies demonstrates its long-term commitment to the used-vehicle marketplace and fintech companies.

The company said SmartLot can enhance a dealer’s ability to manage and secure lot inventory expertly and boost F&I profits per vehicle sold.

Developed in direct response to requests from independent retail dealers seeking to automate processes and generate new revenue streams, Advantage said SmartLot “checks all the boxes.”

Leveraging the same technology that has long supported vehicle finance professionals, Advantage said its platform offers a comprehensive suite of tools — hardware and software — designed, tested, and supported in the U.S.

“SmartLot is a game-changer for independent used car dealers,” Advantage GPS president David Meyer said in a news release. “By listening to our customers and responding with innovative solutions, we allow dealers to expertly manage and protect their inventory.”

Once a vehicle is sold, SmartLot becomes Pulse, a consumer app that can give the consumer vehicle connectivity, becoming a dealer profit center.

“There are tremendous savings for dealers who can better manage and protect their most expensive and at-risk assets, their inventory,” Meyer said. “The game-changer is that Pulse can be a new revenue stream with each vehicle sold.”

Other Key SmartLot features include:

—Real-time lot management

—Power and fuel management

—Streamlined floorplan audits

—Theft and fraud recovery services

—Recovery hotline

—Theft protection insurance

—Recourse protection

—Unauthorized movement alerts

—Increased F&I per vehicle profits

—Enhanced inventory with connected features

In conjunction with this product launch, Advantage announced its new status as a National Corporate Partner of NIADA.

NIADA vice president of dealer development Jeremy Beck said, “We are excited to have Advantage GPS become a Business Partner for 2024. Their support will help NIADA continue to represent the interest of all independent dealers.”

Meyer added, “Our partnership with NIADA further strengthens our commitment to supporting the used-car dealer community with cutting-edge technology.”
