Ally Financial Donates to American Red Cross to Help Tornado Victims
DETROIT — Along with an industry honor based on the amount of
finance contracts and leases outstanding each year, Ally Financial announced
that it's following the lead of some of its Oklahoma City dealer customers,
making a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross in support of its Oklahoma
tornado disaster relief efforts.
Officials highlighted
three dealers in the area — Knipplemeir Chevrolet, Patriot Ford and Kelsey
Buick GMC — banded together to make a donation to the charity and asked other
dealers to join their effort.
Ally said it made the donation to help Oklahoma recover and
to support the call to action issued by its dealer customers.
"We support Oklahoma in its effort to rebuild and are proud
to work with such a caring group of dealers in the region," said Mike Kimmel,
Ally's regional vice president, whose area includes Oklahoma.
"These dealers are local heroes who work tirelessly in their
community throughout the year and step up their efforts even more when their
community is in need," Kimmel continued.
Additionally, Ally said it will match contributions made by
its employees nationwide to eligible nonprofit organizations helping with
relief efforts.
Ally Ranked First On List of Top Auto Finance Companies
In other company news, Ally highlighted that the company
came in first place on the 2013 Big Wheels Report list of top auto finance
companies.
Officials noted the annual report, issued by Auto Finance
News, ranks auto finance companies by the amount of finance contracts and
leases outstanding each year.
"Every day our people
work hard to set the industry standard for products and services that deliver
real value to dealers, Ally Auto Finance president Tim Russi said. "We're proud
to be recognized on this list.
"We wouldn't be at the top of this list without our dealer
customers," Russi went on to say. "Dealers are at the center of what we do. We
only win when the dealers win."
