AmeriCredit’s Miller Gains Leadership Role on AFSA Board
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Preston Miller, AmeriCredit's executive vice president and co-chief operating officer, was recently installed as chair of the American Financial Services Association's Vehicle Finance Division Advisory Board.
This occurred at the conclusion of the group's recent conference, just prior to the National Auto Dealers Association's annual convention and expo.
Miller joined AmeriCredit in 1989 and has held various leadership roles with the company since then, including controller, chief financial officer and chief operating officer for originations.
Officials said he assumed his current role in September 2007. Before joining the company, Miller was an auditor with accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand.
Members of AFSA's Vehicle Finance Division have a significant interest in the financing and leasing of new and used vehicles to consumers, executives noted.
The membership includes captive vehicle finance companies; diversified financial services companies providing financing and leasing to all makes and models; finance companies specializing in prime, near-prime and subprime auto finance; and suppliers to the industry.
Through the division, member companies exchange information and find solutions to common problems, stay abreast of important developments and take coordinated action when necessary, the AFSA indicated.
