ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Bank of America and DataScan Field Services joined forces Thursday to roll out a website designed for used-vehicle buyers to complete their transactions in one place.

The two companies launched PRNDL.com — pronounced prindle — a name inspired from the gears on an automatic transmission: park, reverse, neutral, drive and low.

Officials believe this site is poised to become an "industry game changer" because PRNDL.com is designed to connect used-vehicle buyers to sources for industry-leading products and services needed to complete a vehicle purchase, such as inspections, vehicle protection plans and vehicle financing.

For example, PRNDL.com can direct buyers to some of the most competitive loan and financing options from reputable lenders, including Bank of America. The site can also link shoppers to InspectMyRide.com, which maintains professional inspectors across the United States available to perform comprehensive 150-point vehicle inspections.

The site also can offer a vehicle protection plan from Century Warranty Services that can provide a selection of service contracts tailored to the unique needs of buyers. All plans are backed by Courtesy Insurance Co., Century Warranty's affiliated insurance company

Together, Bank of America and DataScan Field Services contend these services help create an efficient and stress-free buying experience.

"Our goal is to provide consumers with one tool to streamline what can be a cumbersome process when purchasing a used car," explained Brent Sergot, vice president of DataScan.

"At PRNDL.com, we bring the most respected vehicle services in the market straight to the buyers, saving them from having to search the Internet for all of the services they would need to complete a purchase online," Sergot continued.

With a growing number of vehicle sales occurring online and increased consumer-to-consumer business in the used-vehicle segment, Bank of America and DataScan Field Services think a need for this service was apparent in the marketplace.

PRNDL.com is intended for those buying vehicles online but can be used as a tool for anyone buying a new or used model.

"PRNDL.com fills a critical niche in the online car-buying market, featuring services that are among the best in the industry," stated John Hyatt, president of Bank of America's Dealer Financial Services.

"In addition to providing convenience, PRNDL.com offers customers a sense of security with trusted providers," Hyatt stressed. "Bank of America is pleased to be a part of such a quality venture in the growing online automotive marketplace."

Officials went on to highlight PRNDL.com will continue to build on its one-stop-shop theme and plans to add more robust functionality and additional services early next year, including transportation options for the delivery of newly purchased units, vehicle insurance and services for vehicle sellers.

"We have already identified some new providers that soon will add to the site's already robust features and services," Sergot declared.

"In very short order, we'll have everything the consumer will need to ‘get their deal in gear' … except, of course, the car," he concluded.
