FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Daimler Financial Services Americas announced Monday its plans to restructure its customer service, collections and remarketing operations of the Mercedes-Benz Financial sector in Westlake, Texas.

Details of the plan include moving 180 positions of the Daimler Truck Financial sector in Lisle, Ill., and 35 other Mercedes-Benz Financial employees from various offices nationwide to the Texas plant, executives highlighted.

Those employees are slated join the 440 current employees in Westlake in moving to a new three-story, 204,000-square-foot campus outside of Ft. Worth next summer, officials noted.

"The de-merger has given us the opportunity to take a clean-sheet-of-paper approach to our operations and re-engineer the way we serve our dealers and retail customers in the U.S. market," explained Klaus Entenmann, president and chief executive officer of DFSA.

"Co-locating the customer service and dealer credit operations of our two business units — Mercedes-Benz Financial and Daimler Truck Financial — will create a learning environment for our employees that will lead to professional growth opportunities," Entenmann continued.

Executives added that the company has relocated its headquarters to Farmington Hills, Mich., and will focus on expanding its loan portfolio.
