Ford Credit President Chosen as AFSA Chair
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Revealed late last week, Ford Motor Credit’s president has been installed as the American Financial Services Association’s 2011–2012 chair.
John Noone was appointed to the position during the association’s 95th annual meeting in the nation’s Capitol.
Commenting on his new position, Noone said, “The financial services industry is rebounding, but still faces many challenges.
“I look forward to guiding the association as the industry navigates a new regulatory environment and as we continue working together to ensure a strong financial system that benefits consumers and other stakeholders,” he continued.
During his one-year term, he will preside over the AFSA Board and Executive Committee meetings, serve as an ex-officio member of all AFSA committees and represent AFSA at industry and association-sponsored conferences and meetings, officials explained.
He has also been a member of AFSA’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Vehicle Finance Division Advisory Board since 2009.
Highlighting Noone’s career, he joined Ford Credit in 1972, and has held numerous staff and operations positions, spanning the North America, Asia Pacific and Africa, Europe and Latin America business segments.
His past roles in the company include president of global marketing and sales, as well as president of Ford Credit International.
Company officials explained he is currently leading global efforts focused on strategy, business development and regulatory issues.
Noone also serves on the boards of Ford Credit, FCE Bank in Europe and Ford Automotive Finance Company (China).
He also serves on the finance committee and board of directors of Lourdes Inc. — a non-profit senior health services company based in Waterford, Mich.
