DETROIT — As many are aware, GMAC recently struck a deal to help Chrysler dealers; however, some these dealers are being left out in the cold because they do not meet credit requirements.

GMAC confirmed late last week that not all Chrysler dealers who were approved for interim wholesale financing in May will receive long-term assistance.

However, GMAC officials said they are "working aggressively" to support the Chrysler dealer body.

"We began interim wholesale financing in May, and have begun our process of underwriting for the longer term. That process will take approximately six months," executives reported late last week in a statement.

"We fully expect the vast majority of Chrysler dealers for which we are providing interim financing to be approved for longer term wholesale agreements. However, we did notify some Chrysler dealers that they did not qualify for long-term wholesale financing based on our credit criteria," officials concluded.
