HOUSTON — The National Alliance of Buy-Here, Pay-Here Dealers finalized agenda reveals that the new Consumer Protection Agency and the impact this will have on BHPH dealers will be a key topic at the upcoming Underwriting and Collection Conference.

Featured speakers now include nationally recognized attorneys Chuck Dodge, Tom Hudson and Chip Zyvoloski; investment banker John Marcus, of Laidlaw & Co.; and skip-tracing and recovery expert Alex Price.

NABD founder and CPA Ken Shilson noted educational sessions will focus on regulatory compliance, including the new Consumer Financial Protection Act. Also set to be discussed are new industry trends and benchmarks, best practices, the newest technology and in-depth training on both underwriting and collections.

In addition, Shilson mentioned the program now incorporates a capital markets perspective on alternative financing sources and the systems and processes that attract capital.

The conference will be held in Dallas on Nov. 7-9.

"First, we are excited about the new Dallas venue, which allows us to have an expanded exhibit hall and to have separate educational tracks for underwriting and collections," Shilson stated.

"Second, the program features over 35 different speakers including many of the nation's most successful collectors and underwriters who will share their experience, knowledge and best practices," he added.

NABD indicated the conference will be staged at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport located in Terminal C, a step taken to facilitate travel by all participants. NABD has negotiated a discounted room rate of $119 per night while supplies last.

The conference also includes a luncheon and two receptions in an expanded exhibit hall. NABD stressed the exhibit hall, the luncheons and receptions are organized to maximize networking between attendees, experts, and sponsors.

Shilson mentioned the exhibit hall is nearly sold out and is more than 20 percent larger than previous conferences.

"Advance registrations are considerably ahead of last year, and we expect more than 500 attendees," Shilson declared.

A complete agenda can be found on the NABD website at www.bhphinfo.com and registrations can be made online. Individuals and organizations interested in attending or exhibiting also may call NABD at (713) 290-8171.
