COLLEYVILLE, Texas — The National Vehicle Certification Program Group announced it has partnered with Driveway Financial Services to bring additional lenders to independent and franchised dealers currently certifying vehicles through its program.

The NVCP certified pre-owned program includes a physical inspection, visual inspection, Scientific Fluid Analysis for both engine and transmission, a test drive and photographic documentation, all performed by an independent, third- party inspector.

In addition, used vehicles certified under the program carry a three-month/3,000 mile, or six-month /6,000 mile mechanical warranty, and are eligible for the Carfax Buyback Guarantee, officials noted.

The actual inspection results and documentation are available online via a direct link from the Carfax Vehicle History Report. In the form of a compact and informative report, this data includes a complete list of items inspected, inspection and fluid analysis results, and notes from the inspector where applicable. Included are photos of the odometer, VIN plate, and interior and exterior of the vehicle for dealers and consumers to view.

"We're excited to be working with the National Vehicle Certification Program." said Mike Bellamy, national sales manager for Driveway Financial Services. "The NVCP lessens risk and improves performance for lenders, and is great for the consumer."

The National Vehicle Certification Program together with Carfax now offers flexible loan packages through Driveway, so the decision to purchase has become easier to make, officials indicated.

"This is a true, third-party, independent CPO process. No other program or manufacturer can say that, and lenders understand and appreciate that," said Tom Middaugh, executive vice president of NVCP.

"This is great for dealers, too. Our relationship with Driveway just makes it a little easier for buyers to get the vehicle they truly want — a quality, certified pre-owned vehicle." sad Middaugh.

Rob Gaither, president of NVCP, said, "Lenders appreciate our third-party verification of condition and equipment. Our certification process and photo documentation assure lenders that the vehicle is what the dealer says it is; the book value and the condition are assured.

"With the addition of the warranty coverage, both buyers and lenders can expect a trouble-free experience during the critical initial phase of the loan. This is clearly a ‘win' for all concerned," he concluded.
