Prestige’s Seagrave Takes on New Position with AFS Acceptance
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — After spending five years as senior vice president of loan originations at Prestige Financial in Salt Lake City, Scot Seagrave has a new position with a different company.
Seagrave has been hired by AFS Acceptance, a full-service auto finance company serving the subprime financing needs of franchise and independent dealers, as executive vice president.
In his new post on the AFS executive management team, Seagrave will lead all aspects of loan originations, including sales, marketing, credit, funding and dealer relations.
Prior to joining AFS, Seagrave's role at Prestige Financial made him responsible for credit, funding, sales and marketing.
"Prestige has been a great environment for me to learn and grow. Most importantly, it's been a place where I learned about values, character and culture inside of a company. I will look to take some of these principles with me to AFS," Seagrave told SubPrime Auto Finance News this week.
"Though the U.S. and world economy is stagnant at best, I believe the next few years will be exciting times for our industry. As long as the ability to borrow money remains, I believe AFS will position itself to be a premier auto lender in the subprime space," he added.
Seagrave also served as chief operating officer for Courtesy Auto Credit, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Larry Miller Group of Companies. Furthermore, he was senior vice president at Driversselect, overseeing sales and finance operations at the Texas-based subprime dealer group.
Before working in the automotive industry, Seagrave was an equities trader on Wall Street.
He currently sits on the board of the National Auto Finance Association.
"We are excited to welcome Scot to AFS to fill this important role on our executive team," noted Dov Szapiro, president and chief executive officer of AFS Acceptance.
"Scot brings a deep understanding of dealer relations and several years of invaluable industry experience, which we will leverage toward our expansion goals," Szapiro continued.
Commenting on this new position, Seagrave added, "I've known Dov and Uri Szapiro for the past two years, and I love their passion for the business and vision for what they want to accomplish.
"AFS provides me with the challenge I have been looking for. We will have our work cut out for us; however, I am confident that over time, AFS will become a major player in subprime auto finance," he noted to SubPrime Auto Finance News.
"I am very excited to be a part of the AFS team, contributing in any way that I can, and I look forward to being a part of that for many years to come," Seagrave went on to say.
