SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Zag.com announced the launch of a new site today called DrivingDonations.com, which in addition to saving consumers an average of $4,500 on a new-car purchase, will also donate $50 to a charity of the consumer's choice.

Basically, while the average savings for consumers is based on new-vehicle purchases, they can also buy used vehicles via the site, which also leads to a $50 donation to a preferred charity.

Overall, consumers can choose from more than 1.2 million local, regional and national charitable organizations to support, according to the company.

"This innovative new program brings charitable organizations and a powerful car-buying service together to benefit all involved," explained Kasey Soll, director of marketing and corporate communications for Zag.

"Organizations now have a new and no-cost way to fundraise during tough times while their supporters will save money and feel good about helping make a difference," Soll explained.

Basically, Zag.com operates car-buying platforms for more than 30 brands, including USAA, many AAA clubs, Capital One and Overstock.com.
