WASHINGTON, D.C. — An organizing body of lenders, Americans Well-informed on Auto Retailing Economics (AWARE), has released an updated version of its consumer education product.

The latest edition of the Auto Financing Tune-Up Quiz is meant to cover many topics, such as where customers can obtain financing, leasing versus buying, factors that affect a monthly payment and the impact of late or missed payments.

The new quiz can be found at AWARE's Web site, www.autofinancing101.org. The quiz and other educational materials are produced in both English and Spanish.

"Starting the New Year with a good foundation of vehicle financing basics can help you down the road," explained AWARE spokesman Eric Hoffman.

"That way, you'll already have an understanding about the process should unexpected circumstances lead you to need another car quickly," Hoffman added.

AWARE's members include: American Financial Services Association, National Automobile Dealers Association, National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers, American International Automobile Dealers Association, American Honda Finance Corp., American Suzuki Financial Services, AutoNation, Ford Motor Credit Co., GMAC Financial Services, Group 1 Automotive, Lithia Motors, National Auto Finance Co., Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp., Nuvell Financial Services, Saab Financial Services Corp., Sonic Automotive, Toyota Financial Services, United Auto Group, Volvo Car Finance North America and Wells Fargo Auto Finance.
