HOUSTON — The National Alliance of Buy-Here, Pay-Here Dealers revealed late last week the details for its 14th Annual National Buy-Here, Pay-Here Conference.

The conference will again be held at the Venetian/Palazzo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, from May 16–18, the company noted.

This year’s National Conference theme is “Getting Your BHPH Operations on the Right Track.”

“The conference will help attendees understand all the latest BHPH developments during the last 12 months and what they can do to successfully face these new challenges,” officials noted.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Ken Shilson, founder and conference chairman, said, “The agenda this year has been compressed within a Wednesday–Friday format.

“This year, the educational sessions begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon May 16 and are followed by a welcome reception starting at 6 p.m. The later start this year allows the operators who are also registered for the NABD Dealer Academy to attend the opening educational sessions at NABD 2012,” Shilson explained.

The Dealer Academy ends at noon on May 16 so attendees are encouraged to stay for NABD 2012, and special discounts are available for operators who attend both events.

NABD then went on to cover some specifics about the upcoming event’s lineup.

“The agenda will focus on the new legal and regulatory environment, the newest technology and finding capital,” Shilson stated.

Although the event schedule has been compressed, more topics will be covered in concurrent workshop sessions which begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, and continue Thursday morning, officials noted.

These sessions cover topics including: accounting and tax reduction strategies, finding new customers, payment solutions that enhance collections, capital, integrated technology, add-ons that increase profits, payment devices, and using credit data to improve underwriting.

And the general sessions begin on Thursday afternoon May 17 with inductions into the newly-created BHPH Hall of Fame.

“These inductions will recognize lifetime achievements of two industry leaders who have demonstrated exceptional achievement, community service, high moral character and integrity during their distinguished careers. Nominations will be accepted for future inductions,” Shilson explained.

The other general education sessions on Thursday and Friday morning will focus on understanding the BHPH market, finding inventory, new technology, BHPH customer relationships, a legal and regulatory Q&A and best practices panel sessions with “several of the nation’s most successful operators, large and small,” officials stressed.

All educational sessions will conclude at 1 p.m. on Friday to facilitate return travel by attendees.

And attending the event will be approximately 150 sponsors. Two receptions, a luncheon and a breakfast will be held in the exhibit hall to facilitate networking between dealers, experts and product/service providers.

Those interested in exhibiting should call Shilson at (832) 767-4759 while space is still available.

Lastly, the Venetian/Palazzo and NABD have agreed on discounted room rates of $169 per night.

Availability is limited so attendees are encouraged to reserve their rooms as soon as possible, the association stressed.

Reservations can be made online at the NABD website www.bhphinfo.com.
