NABD Highlights How Conference Can Help BHPH Flourish in Fertile Environment
HOUSTON — CNW Research indicated more than 15 percent of all
used-vehicle sales last month came through the buy-here, pay-here industry. And
leaders from the National Alliance of Buy-Here, Pay-Here Dealers want to equip
operators to secure an even larger share of the market.
NABD highlighted the theme for this year's National
Conference at the Wynn in Las Vegas on May 21–23 is "Operating Successfully in
the Current BHPH Environment."
"BHPH opportunities have never been better than in the
low-yielding environment of today for operators who understand the business and
avoid pitfalls and costly mistakes," NABD founder Ken Shilson said. "The program
has been designed to provide operators with access to capital, the latest
technology, and all the compliance moves they should make now.
"Last year, approximately 1,800 attendees participated in our
National Conference and Dealer Academy making them the largest used car events
in the automotive industry. Our move to the Wynn, the new agenda this year and
early registration discounts has increased advance registrations," Shilson
continued..
Joe Gibbs, Hall of Fame NFL coach and NASCAR racing
organization champion, headlines the lineup of industry experts and operators
who will offer best practice solutions to the industry challenges of today,
including all the most important topics successful operators need to know.
The program features 12 concurrent workshops covering:
—Accounting/tax update
—Capital
—Compliance/regulatory issues and solutions
—Finding the best
customers
—DMS systems
—Inventory acquisition and reconditioning
—Maximizing recoveries
—Payment devices
—Interpreting customer credit reports.
In addition, the single-track general education sessions
will feature a Gibbs' motivational and leadership presentation. Other general
session presentations include integrating special finance, a dealer best
practices panel, current developments, benchmarks and trend information, and
how to implement a compliance management system.
The general sessions conclude with an open forum for all
attendees to discuss important operating best practices, strategies and
compliance topics.
An agenda is available online at www.bhphinfo.com.
"Our exhibit hall this year will feature over 125 sponsors
and exhibitors, making it the largest exhibit hall in BHPH history," Shilson
said. "It includes all the products and services operators need to be efficient
and remain competitive.
NABD has secured $179 per night room rates at the Wynn —
with no resort fees — while supplies last.
"These discounted rates are exceptional considering this is
one of the busiest and most popular weeks of the year in Las Vegas, and the
Wynn has more Forbes five-star awards than any other resort/casino in the
world," Shilson said. "The discounted room block is filling very fast so
attendees are encouraged to make their reservations immediately.
"Our early-bird discount program this year makes the event
very affordable for all attendees who register prior to April 28. Those
attendees who register prior to the April 28 deadline will receive huge
savings," Shilson went on to say.
NABD also announced that it will hold its third annual BHPH
Dealer Training Academy at the Wynn on May 19–21 prior to the National
Conference.
The Academy is designed to provide comprehensive BHPH
training for those new to the industry, key employees seeking to expand their
knowledge, and operators "who are really serious" about improving performance,
according to Shilson.
Space at the Academy is limited so interested attendees are
encouraged to register soon in order to obtain early registration discounts.
"The new venue, unprecedented BHPH opportunities, early
registration discounts, discounted room rates, new developments, two programs
designed to help you succeed, make both NABD events ‘must-attends,'" Shilson
said.
