JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

BenchMark Consulting International — which compiles the annual survey for the National Automotive Finance Association among other analytical projects for banks and finance companies — recently chose Dwayne Furmidge as the new leader of its North and South American operations.

And one of Furmidge’s first public appearances in this role as director for the Americas will be as a panelist at the SubPrime Forum, an event conducted in partnership with the NAF Association and set for Nov. 11 and Nov. 12 at the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa in Las Vegas.

Now with BenchMark Consulting International — a division of FIS that’s focused on the auto and consumer finance industry — Furmidge will now oversee BenchMark’s mission of measuring and comparing collective knowledge from successful companies to help clients plot the route to best practices in all operational processes. BenchMark has worked with 36 of the top 50 commercial banks, all major vehicle captive finance corporations, several of the largest consumer finance corporations and many national and regional banks throughout the United States.

Before joining BenchMark, Furmidge held the position of chief executive officer at CC Capital, a subprime finance company. Previously, he founded and served as CEO for ReVive Financial, a commercial loan brokerage firm serving small businesses and startups, and Eastern Carolina Auto Finance, a private equity lending organization serving the subprime auto industry.

During this 10-year period in CEO roles, Furmidge oversaw underwriting, funding, portfolio management, collections, servicing, recovery and liquidation.

“Furmidge is recognized as a prolific public speaker who provides insight on consumer finance, the condition of the finance industry and raising capital for entrepreneurial endeavors,” Benchmark officials said.

Furmidge will team with George Halloran, the auto finance program manager at Benchmark Consulting International, to give a presentation that will expand upon the data points and trends shared at the NAF Association’s annual gathering earlier this year.

That session is just a part of what’s on tap for the second-annual SubPrime Forum, which is a part of Used Car Week that includes the CPO Forum: The Pre-Owned Conference, the Re3 Conference and the National Remarketing Conference.
