After reporting all-time records in May, the Nissan and Infiniti brands in Canada achieved that mark again in August.  

The Nissan brand moved 1,594 certified units in August, up from 1,293 a year ago. Through eight months, Nissan has sold 10,604 CPO units, compared to 6,229 vehicles. The Infiniti brand moved 213 CPO vehicles in August, up from 127 last year. Its year-to-date sales have increased to 1,366 units, up from 784 a year ago.

“August was the best CPO sales month ever for both brands,” said Joel Gregory of Nissan Canada via email. “The previous record (for both Nissan and Infiniti) was set just four months ago …  The popularity of the program continues to grow, as more and more of our network are seeing the inherent value this program can deliver.”

Here's a rundown of CPO sales throughout Canada: 

Toyota moved 3,285 certified pre-owned vehicles in August, compared to 3,250 a year ago. Through eight months, it has sold 23,566 CPO units, down from 24,431 in the year-ago period.

Lexus had 369 CPO sales August, compared to 465 last year. Year-to-date sales are at 3,207, compared to 3,448 through eight months of 2018.

Honda had 2,276 certified sales for August and  has14,346 CPO sales year-to-date. Acura moved 639 certified vehicles for the month and has sold 3,907 units through eight months.

A year ago, Honda sold 1,557 in August, with year-to-date sales at 10,393. In August 2018, Acura moved 227 CPO units, moving its year-to-date sales to 1,711. 

Hyundai moved 1,014 certified vehicles in August, up significantly from the 670 sold in the same period last year. Not only was this a 52% uptick, it was the fourth month Hyundai has eclipsed 1,000 CPO sales this year, says Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. manager of CPO and remarketing Charles Plewes.

At Subaru, certified sales in August (375) were basically steady with last year’s (376). Through eight months, there have been 2,690 CPO units sold, up from 2,128 in the year-ago period.

Mercedes-Benz reported 1,243 certified sales in August, compared to 1,320 a year ago. Through eight months, sales have reached 9,380 units, up from 9,354 a year ago.
