Chase, Mazda Expand Year-Old Relationship
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — Chase and Mazda North American Operations on Wednesday broadened their working relationship by agreeing to a multi-year private-label contract.
The agreement means Chase will be the exclusive U.S. auto finance provider for Mazda, operating under the brand name Mazda Capital Services. Officials indicated that the Mazda Capital Services brand will roll out to franchise dealers later this year.
"Since we began our relationship a little more than a year ago, both our dealers and our customers have been extremely pleased with the quality of the financial services provided by Chase," explained Jim O'Sullivan, president and chief executive officer of Mazda North American Operations.
"I fully expect this new long-term strategic financial alliance will result in even greater benefits for our Mazda dealers and customers and will be a prime contributor to our future growth in the U.S.," he added.
Chase became the exclusive domestic finance provider for Mazda under the Chase brand in January of 2009. The deal resulted in Chase working on retail and lease financing for Mazda customers at more than 625 franchise dealers throughout the country.
"This is a win-win agreement that will benefit Mazda consumers as well as dealers," noted Marc Sheinbaum, chief executive officer for auto finance at Chase.
"Chase has developed a reputation as a top-notch consumer and dealer finance provider for auto manufacturers, and Mazda has built a strong brand with consumers during its 40 years in the United States," Sheinbaum continued.
"By working together, we will use our combined strength to provide dealers and consumers with products and services to drive sales under the Mazda brand," he added.
Chase pointed out that during 2009 the company handed out $23.7 billion to finance 1.1 million new and used vehicles.
