Daimler Financial Expansion Set to Boost Texas Economy
FORT WORTH, Texas — According to recent data from a research group, Daimler Financial Services Americas' upcoming expansion into north Texas could significantly bolster the area's economy and bring more than 200 new jobs.
Insight Research of Dallas estimated that the opening of the 160,000-square-foot AllianceTexas facility can push $115 million into the area's economy in just its first year.
Moreover, AllianceTexas, scheduled to open in August, has space for 800 employees.
"According to Insight Research of Dallas, Daimler Financial Services' expansion in the north Texas area will result in a positive economic impact of $115 million in the first 12 months and $48.5 million annually going forward," stated Janet Marzett, vice president of customer service, collections and remarketing USA for Daimler Financial Services in Westlake, Texas.
"When we move into the new building over the first weekend in August, we will have about 650 employees with capacity for 800," she continued. "Of that amount, roughly 230 employees will represent new jobs in north Texas with approximately 100 people relocating from Chicago and other locations to north Texas."
According to officials, Daimler Financial Services is expanding its customer service, collections and remarketing operations of Mercedes-Benz Financial in Westlake. The facility is to include similar operations for Daimler Truck Financial, which is moving from Lisle, Ill., to Fort Worth during the summer, as well.
"Our plan is to create a powerhouse customer care and operations center at one location," Marzett explained. "This will create a large talent pool where people will have a wide range of career opportunities in both the luxury car market and the medium- and heavy-duty truck industry."
"Most importantly, they will not have to relocate all over the country during their careers," she concluded.
