NRC Panel to Address Subprime Repossessions
CARY, N.C. — As the lineup continues to be finalized for the upcoming National Remarketing Conference, which will be held in Nov. 10-12 in San Diego, conference planners have announced that a subprime repossession panel will be held during the second day of the conference.
The panel, "Subprime Repossessions: Managing Risk in a Changing Economy" will feature Howard Segal, vice president and remarketing manager at Wells Fargo Auto Finance; Bill Walters, vice president of remarketing at Westlake Financial; as well as other leaders in the repossession field.
The session, which will take place on Nov. 11 at 11:15 a.m., will address some of the big questions in the subprime and repossession markets, including:
—How have subprime repossessions been affected by the economic slowdown?
—What is the general outlook in light of tightening credit standards and an uncertain economy?
—What changes are remarketers making to better manage the risk associated with repossessions?
—What changes are repossession agents making to manage the volume slowdown?
The NRC, presented by SmartAuction, has long been recognized as the remarketing industry event of the year, and 2010 will be no exception. This dynamic event brings together industry executives from auction companies, automotive manufacturers, banks, finance companies and technology companies to strengthen and improve the important relationships connecting the wholesale and retail segments of the used-car market.
This year, the NRC will be held immediately following the CPO Forum at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. The CPO Forum will run Nov. 8-9, a golf outing at world-renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course will take place on the morning of Nov. 10, and the NRC will commence that afternoon.
Through its third annual CPO Forum, presented by AutoTrader.com, the Auto Remarketing Forum Series helps dealers stay successful in a challenging marketplace by offering the latest news and bringing together leading experts in the certified pre-owned marketplace to discuss market challenges and ways to overcome them.
Early registration for the National Remarketing conference is $795 and for the CPO Forum is $395. After Oct. 15, those rates go up to $995 and $595, respectively. The Auto Remarketing group rate at the Manchester Grand Hyatt of $279 per night is only available through Oct. 22.
