ALPHARETTA, Ga. -

On Wednesday it was announced that InspectMyRide, a subsidiary of DataScan Field Services, has become the preferred vehicle inspection company for Cars.com.

Now, Cars.com shoppers can buy an inspection from InspectMyRide prior to making a purchase decision. Moreover, InspectMyRide promises the inspection will be done within approximately 48 hours of receiving the request.

“Online car buying is growing in popularity because of its convenience and access to a larger inventory of used vehicles than the local dealership, but many consumers still perceive it as risky,” said Brent Sergot, vice president and general manager of DataScan, which provides simliar inspection services to manufacturers, dealerships and lenders, to name a few.

“Making a small investment in a vehicle inspection offers buyers a greater level of protection and confidence in their purchase,” Sergot continued.

Inspections prices start at $129 and also include an Experian AutoCheck summary. An InspectMyRide inspection includes a 150+ point inspection and road test (when conditions permit).

Additionally, the inspection company will provide customers with a detailed report that includes a scoring model that assigns both a numeric score and a five-star rating. Digital photos of the vehicle will also be provided.

“This partnership with InspectMyRide brings significant value to our customers as they make their online purchasing decisions,” said Mark Seaton, director of advertising and business development for Cars.com.

“InspectMyRide is another tool buyers can use to feel confident about buying the right car at the right price,” he concluded.
