DALLAS -

The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance will commemorate its 10th anniversary when it convenes next month in Dallas for the annual IARA Summer Roundtable, which will include a host of industry leaders, such as Manheim Consulting’s Tom Webb and longtime General Motors executive Bob Lutz.

The event is scheduled for Aug. 16-17 at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Dallas, and its theme will be “Celebrating IARA’s 10th Anniversary.” There will be two roundtable sessions and numerous panel sessions.

"The roundtable sessions and panels will focus on both the larger national economic issues and those at the actual sale point," said IARA president Bob Graham.

Giving more detail, Graham said the pair of roundtable discussions will hone in on the following topics:

—The vehicle history reporting process
—The new National Auto Auction Association’s Structural Damage & Arbitration Policy

Meanwhile, the panel discussions will delve into:

—IARA history
—Pricing in today’s marketplace
—A dealer panel
—Consignor’s view of the market

The event will also include an economic forecast offered by Webb.

Moving along, among the networking opportunities during the meeting will be a welcome reception/dinner/tour of Cowboys Stadium on Aug. 16. Former NFL star Carl Eller will be the dinner speaker.

Additionally, there will be an awards luncheon on Aug. 17, where Lutz will be the keynote speaker.

Attendees will be given an autographed copy of his book, Car Guys vs. Bean Counters. The event will wrap up with a cocktail reception the evening of Aug. 17.
