Website Offers Sellers Free Marketplace to Move Their Rides
As the Web becomes more and more integral in the used-car marketplace, one particular site is offering sellers a free method to put their rides up for sale.
GetCarValues.com is designed to connect sellers with pre-screened buyers to facilitate a cash sale “within hours.”
Here is how it works.
A seller can go to the site and fill out the information about his car. Then, GetCarValues takes that information to its network of approved buyers to see if any are interested.
Interested buyers can then make offers directly to the seller. The seller picks which deal he likes best and then brings the vehicle to a local drop-off spot, where he is given cash for the car.
All of this is free to the seller.
"Our mission is to get sellers top dollar for their vehicles," explained Steve Oakleaf, sales manager at GetCarValues.com.
“GetCarValues.com works on behalf of the seller to shop the car to the buyers who will be most interested in acquiring it,” he added. “These are cash deals without the hassle of trading in cars or waiting for buyers to secure financing.”
The site stressed that offers can be made on cars regardless of whether they have been paid off, under a finance contract or still under lease.
Once a seller accepts a buyer’s offer, it becomes a binding contract between the two parties, officials noted, meaning “it’s a guaranteed sale.” In other words, upon the seller’s acceptance, a buyer cannot renege on the offer.
Moving along, officials explained how the site determines the value of sellers’ vehicles. GetCarValues.com considers the seller’s market’s sales data and the specific details on the unit for sale.
Moreover, the site utilizes estimates from its own experts employing standard appraisal tools.
Sellers can visit www.getcarvalues.com/appraisal_request.html to begin a valuation, while buyers who want to become part of the site’s buyer network can visit www.getcarvalues.com/buying_partners.html.
