Sonic Automotive is now utilizing a new mobile reporting application that can help its corporate executives and regional teams effectively gauge the performance of the group’s dealerships.

The app is available on the iPhone and iPad and offers details on dealership sales and operating performance through a scorecard that is provided for each store. Sonic uses the app to also examine daily operating results and month-to-date financial performances.

“Mobility and business intelligence are two of our top strategic priorities,” stated Sonic vice president and chief information officer Heath Byrd.

“Our executive and regional leadership teams live on the road, traveling from dealership to dealership. This app allows them to stay connected to the data they need to run the business,” Byrd continued.

Sonic’s director of enterprise business intelligence Richard Hanks added: “The performance and convenience of our mobile reporting app on the user-friendly iPad and iPhone has been impressive. Our executives and regional teams save a great deal of time and gain valuable insights into the business every day. The application was surprisingly easy to develop and we were able to deploy in a matter of weeks.”

Sonic turned to MicroStrategy Mobile to develop and launch the app, officials noted.
