CHERRY HILL, N.J. -

Subaru of America is seeking out its Facebook fans to help the company determine which charity will be added to the list of beneficiaries in the annual “Share the Love” event, during which a $250 donation is made for each new Subaru purchase or lease.

In this year’s event — which lasts from Nov. 19 through Jan. 3 — there will be a “People’s Choice” charity to go along with the organizations for which Subaru is already raising funds.

The automaker’s Facebook fans can choose from one of the four following charities: Teach for America, The American Red Cross, The Children’s Miracle Network and The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Voting for the “People’s Choice” kicked off Thursday on Subaru’s Facebook page and will go through Sept. 15. Once votes are tallied, the top vote-getter will be added to the event.

“We are pleased to offer this opportunity to Subaru’s online community,” stated Subaru of America national advertising manager Brian Johnson. “This lets our customers get directly involved with our partners and allows them to have a say in who Subaru partners with in this year’s event.”

Subaru will also give $0.10 to the designed charity on each of the first 200,000 votes.
