SANTA MONICA, Calif. -

As baseball’s World Series gets into full swing this week, the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers have a lot in common, with both bringing a lot of power to the plate as the they feature some of the game’s top sluggers.

Although the cities represented in the Fall Classic — St. Louis and Dallas-Fort Worth — may have both been treated to similar styles of play this season, when TrueCar.com took a look at the auto markets of each town, it found striking differences, the site said. Note that the Rangers actually play in nearby Arlington, which is considered part of the metropolitan area.

In what perhaps defies expectations, TrueCar discovered that St. Louis buyers leaned more toward domestic vehicles than buyers in Dallas/Fort Worth did. More specifically, TrueCar noted that among the top-selling brands for this year, imports and domestics had equal footing in St. Louis, while the Texan buyers went more toward imports.

However, as one might expect, Dallas/Fort Worth favored trucks and SUVs, which comprised half of the top-10 list of best-selling models there.

Meanwhile, in St. Louis, cars accounted for six of the top 10 spots.
