VIN Viper Unveils Updated iPhone App
On Wednesday, Selig Technologies released a major update to VIN Viper for iPhone, the mobile appraising tool where dealers can scan a vehicle identification number or select the year, make and model to gather information.
Most notable in this new release is the removal of device restrictions and user limits.
SeligTech president Jason Seligman explained VIN Viper’s v1.3 no longer restricts dealers to one account per one iPhone.
“Dealers can now share their VIN Viper account throughout the entire dealership on multiple iPhone devices, which offers dealers more flexibility and decreases monthly costs,” Seligman highlighted.
In addition, VIN Viper users can take multiple photos, make appraisal notes, email appraisals within the app and push vehicles to Facebook as news feeds.
Furthermore, all mobile appraisals are available in VIN Viper’s fully functional Web version.
VIN Viper’s iPhone upgrade is free and will be available for Android users in the coming month, according to the company.
“There are numerous user interface upgrades in this release that simplify and speed up the appraising process,” Seligman stated.
“Dealers can now configure VIN Viper to display the values and Carfax summary points on one page resulting in a quick and easy appraisal that saves dealers time and money,” he added.
As a preferred Carfax mobile partner, dealers looking to add vehicle history reports can now use VIN Viper’s iPhone and Android apps to access Carfax’s free 30-day trial utilizing their existing auction account.
Dealers also can sign up through their auction data provider for Carfax’s Auction Quick Check.
Along with Carfax information, VIN Viper offers mobile access to some additional data sources — Black Book, NADA and Kelley Blue Book.
