EL PASO, Texas -

El Paso Independent Auto Auction recently commemorated its first year in business with a special anniversary sale which followed a celebratory party the preceding evening.

EPIAA hosted customers and their guests at Rosa’s Cantina — a famous local Mexican restaurant — for dinner, drinks and a performance from The Cronkites on Feb. 7 then held a 500-unit sale the next day. Following the sale, the auction served barbecue and the following dealers were recognized with awards:

—Enrique Moran, of Rainbow Motors
—Gary York from Mack Massey
—Fred Guietterez, of Hoy Fox Toyota

York was honored for selling the first car ever at the auction, while EPIAA spotlighted Guietterez for attending nearly every single one of its sales, as he missed just one. Guietterez took home the grand prize drawing, receiving a private party for 15 at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino during an upcoming race.

“It has been a fantastic year for me at EPI. The customer service here is great – they always go the extra mile to help me make sales and purchases ‘done’ deals,” said Moran, who officials said went to every EPI sale.

EPIAA co-owner Bob McConkey noted: “The auction is steadily gaining traction in the marketplace, and we’re excited about the coming year. The entire staff has gone the extra mile to make dealers feel welcome and to provide the best remarketing services available in the region.”
