EL PASO, Texas -

While revealing it has secured a General Services Administration contract, El Paso Independent Auto Auction also highlighted it has entered its second year in operation with an increase in both consignment and key management.

Commenting on the new GSA contract that the auction has gained along with sister auction KCI in Kansas City, Lori Pidgeon, EPI’s general manager , noted, “We are very happy to have been awarded the contract.

“It enables us to feature more inventory for our dealers, as well as the general public, while we provide a service for the government here in El Paso,” she continued.

And with growth has come management expansion, as well.

J.D. Glover has joined EPI’s team as assistant general manager.

“Our increasing consignment has warranted the addition of key staff,” said Pidgeon.

Glover is coming over from Kansas City Independent Auto Auction, where he formerly served as fleet/lease manager, officials explained.

Commenting on the hire, Pidgeon said, “While J.D. is well known on the fleet side of things, he also brings six years of hands on auction experience with him and will be a great addition to our team here in El Paso.”

Moreover, Chris Legg, who formerly worked with sister auction DAA Northwest in Spokane, Wash., is joining EPI’s sales staff.

“Chris’ dealer and national account experience will definitely be put to good use here in El Paso,” Pidgeon concluded.

Next, the auction highlighted the expansion it enjoyed this past year.

Officials noted that Bob McConkey, owner of EPI with business partner Greg Mahugh, is pleased with the auction’s growth.

Moreover, they noted that McConkey attributes much of the expansion to Pidgeon’s “management and relationship skills.”

“We were brand new in this region a year ago,” he explained. “The local dealer body had no idea who we were, and it took some time to earn their trust and business. Lori has done a great job with it."

And the auction’s national account lineup continues to expand.

On top of its upcoming GSA consignment, the Texas auction also offers vehicles from Ally Auto Remarketing, PAR North America, GTB Remarketing, Westlake Financial and more.

EPI offers dealer and fleet/lease consignment every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
