CHICAGO -

Cars.com is reportedly shopping around to possibly bring in a new creative agency and has circulated a request-for-proposal document among different companies, according to a report from AdvertisingAge.

Its current partner for the last 11 years — DDB, Chicago — is in the mix, however, as it was asked to submit a proposal, the report indicated.

“We can confirm that Cars.com has relased an RFP to search for a creative advertising agency to serve as the lead creative agency in our integrated marketing mix. The RFP should in no way an indication of dissatisfaction with the tremendous work DDB, Chicago, has performed for us for more than a decade,” a Cars.com spokesperson was quoted in the report as saying. “As we continue to grow, our needs as an organization continue to evolve, and this decision is the next logical step in the growth of our integrated marketing programs.”

The site is fresh off its fifth straight Super Bowl advertising campaign. In this latest endeavor, Cars.com said it enjoyed a strong traffic hike both during the Super Bowl and afterwards.

In fact, Cars.com said the gains on its mobile sites and applications were particularly strong, in addition to traffic from mobile devices to the wired site.
