TORONTO -

Boost Motor Group and Manheim Canada announced on Wednesday the full launch of their new combined solution that is designed to help dealers conduct wholesale selling easily and quickly.

The new tool allows dealers to take vehicles from their trade-in or retail inventory and send it directly to Manheim’s OVE.com simply by hitting a button. The vehicles will be listed by Manheim and include condition reports. Manheim will also take care of marketing and the post-sale process for dealers.

Officials emphasized that this allows dealers to broaden the exposure of their used units for sale while keeping their vehicles on the lot.

“We’ve seen the Internet radically change the retailing environment for auto dealers, and this is a logical next step for dealers to now expand their horizons in the wholesale arena,” stated Greg Connor, chief executive officer of Boost Motor Group.

“By leveraging the information already in our system, we can get aged retail inventory over to OVE.com with very little friction, gaining more exposure for our dealers, with much less hassle,” he continued.

Don Wallace, director of commercial accounts and e-Business for Manheim Canada, added: “This partnership really capitalizes on a couple dominant themes that we’ve witnessed over recent years — the growth in our online marketplace with OVE.com, and the efficiency of moving cars virtually.

“We’re committed to growing our dealer consignment business and adding more value for dealers choosing to convert more of their vehicles online,” Wallace shared.

There has been market testing of the process and it is ready for launch. Dealers can request to have their inventory automated in Boost, then transferred to OVE.com however they may choose.

Officials explained that dealers can choose to have vehicles sent individually or set rules to send certain groups of vehicles. For instance, a dealer can set it up to where any vehicle 60 days or older is sent to OVE.com.

“We’re working on making the process as seamless as possible for the dealer,” Connor stated. “No need to re-enter photos and vehicle details – simply enter the wholesale pricing, any relevant disclosure information, and the vehicle can be live in minutes. We’re going to continue to refine the process to make it as easy as possible for our mutual customers.”

Officials noted that Manheim’s fee is typical of the traditional rate card. However, there are no transportation fees. Boost levies a “modest success fee” only if the vehicle is sold.

“We’re looking for widespread adoption here,” Connor said. “We’re making this as easy as possible for dealers to give it a try. Dealer feedback to date has been very reassuring.”
