LONDON, Ontario -

CarProof announced this week that it has rolled out a new tool for dealers designed to give them a “fast snapshot to help make on-the-spot decisions.”

QuickProof, essentially, is a screening tool dealers can use to quickly check for damage on older units.

"When our dealers are considering cars that are older than 10 years, they told us that in some cases, what they wanted was a screening tool as a starting point," shared Chris Afonso, vice president of dealer sales at CarProof.  "QuickProof gives them that tool and the ability to cost-effectively screen for damage on those older vehicles."

Beyond offering the VIN decode, the tool aims to give a quick “yes” or “no”  regarding whether or not there has been damage to the vehicle, officials explained.

Included in the Canada-wide “damage” search are insurance accident/collision estimates (except from ICBC and SGI), police reported accidents, U.S. findings and CAMVAP buy-backs.

QuickProof is offered for vehicles from model-year 2001 or older.

After the “snapshot” is provided by QuickProof, a more comprehensive vehicle history report can be added later to meet regulations or in properly disclosing to customers all the detailed information.

QuickProof costs $7, which officials said can be “credited against that VIN’s vehicle history report, if subsequently purchased.”
