Bel Air Auto Auction Appoints New GM of Powersports Division
Maryland’s Bel Air Auto Auction recently revealed it has appointed a new general manager of its powersports division.
Tapped for the position is Michael Taylor, who on top of managing the auction’s monthly powersports, boat and RV sale, will also work with Chuck Comfort, who handles the auction’s salvage/inop and truck & equipment Sales.
Commenting on the appointment, Charles Nichols, president of parent company BSC America, said, “With his experience in account management and auction operations, Mike is an outstanding addition to our auction team.
“Our Specialty Sale Division has seen steady growth, and we are confident that Mike will be instrumental in expanding the scope of our Powersports sale,” he continued.
Highlighting Taylor’s background, the company shared he comes to BSC America from Springfield, Mo., where he spent seven years at Manheim’s Missouri Auto Auction (recently sold to an independent owner and re-named 166 Auto Auction).
During his time at the Missouri auction, his responsibilities included lot operations, office management, inspections, account management and operations management.
Taylor went on to comment on his new position, noting, “Working at Bel Air Auto Auction is a wonderful opportunity for me, and I am thrilled to be working with the Nichols family.
"Bel Air Auto Auction has long been known as one of the leading auctions on the Eastern Seaboard, and I’m looking forward to working with the team at BSC America to position the powersports sale as the market leader, as well!” he continued.
And Taylor has even more to look forward to this summer.
BSC America’s new Clayton Station Building is set to open this summer, which will house the powersports division.
Officials noted the more-than 5,000 square foot auction arena “is designed with double blocks and accommodates theater-like seating for customers as they bid on vehicles.
"The new building will make sale day more comfortable for our buyers, and will streamline the movement of vehicles over the auction block,” the company added.
The new building is located at 1300 Business Center Way in Edgewood, Md.
