BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -

CarSoup has something new on the menu for its subscribing dealers, with the announcement of an expanded partnership with Carfax.

On Friday, CarSoup and Carfax reported that Carfax Vehicle History Reports are now integrated into the CarSoup iPad app.

This offers free Carfax Vehicle History Reports from subscribing dealers to consumers who are shopping for used cars using the CarSoup app, which the companies said makes car shopping more convenient and helps build consumer confidence.

“We’re excited that consumers are giving CarSoup.com’s new iPad app 5-star ratings, and we feel it’s because it provides a great shopping experience for new car and used car buyers,” said CarSoup.com president Larry Cuneo.

“Carfax definitely adds to that experience, providing confidence and quality information to help shoppers find great values and the right car anywhere, anytime right from their iPad.”

The CarSoup app allows users to sort vehicle listings by free Carfax Reports and Carfax 1-Owner vehicles, providing details on a vehicle’s mileage readings, service history, number of previous owners and other information.

Shoppers also have the option of purchasing a Carfax Report directly from the CarSoup iPad app.

“Carfax Reports enhance the CarSoup app by providing consumers with crucial information about the vehicle’s history, all from their iPad,” said Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax. “It’s the confidence boost they need to know they’re making a smart buying decision.”

The new integration on CarSoup’s iPad app expands the company’s service to consumers, which since 2010 has automatically linked Carfax Reports run by dealers to their listings on CarSoup.com.

In January 2012, CarSoup added this same feature, along with highlighting Carfax 1-Owner cars, to its mobile website.
