MCKINNEY, Texas -

RedBumper this week announced an upgrade to its mobile app, with the integration of Carfax Vehicle History Reports.

Subscribing dealers will now have the vehicle reports automatically added to their apps once they run a Carfax report through the RedBumper platform.

The company says the tool will help dealers manage inventories and determine which cars best meet their customers’ needs.

“It’s really satisfying to see that dealers are adopting our tools and loving them,” said Bruce Thompson, founder and chief executive officer of RedBumper.

“Our goal with RedBumper was to give dealers revolutionary Smartphone tools that would simplify their daily tasks while giving them the best analytic/stocking tools on the market. We’ve had tremendous acceptance thus far with the installation of over 100 dealerships a month," he added.

Dealers using the RedBumper app scan the VIN barcode to instantly see Carfax Highlights on the Vehicle Values tab, the company explained.

Key information, including whether a car is a Carfax 1-Owner, offers dealers a snapshot of the car’s past, and the ability to view the full Carfax Report they’ve purchased.

“Building Carfax information into the RedBumper mobile app helps simplify the way dealers manage their inventory,” said Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax. “Over half of our dealer customers are Carfax Advantage Dealers, with access to as many Carfax Reports as they need to stock their lot with quality used cars.”

in other Carfax news, software and technology provider Navex announced on Thursday that it has added Carfax QuickVIN to it point of sale software product, called Navex Shop Management. The company says users can now retrieve the year, make and model of a vehicle, along with its VIN, more quickly by netering license plate information.

Also, Carfax QuickVIN users who participate in the Carfax Service Network program can expand their reach to potential customers by having their service records appear as free advertising of shop name and contact information on Carfax Vehicle History Reports, the company said.

"We have always encouraged our dealers to capture VIN numbers," said Clark Brown, president of Navex. "Since adding Carfax QuickVIN to the Navex Shop Management system, it is easier than ever to do so. Simply entering a customer’s license plate number finds the corresponding VIN code, make, model and engine information and automatically enters it into the customer’s repair order. Carfax QuickVIN has become one of the favorite tools utilized by our dealers. It’s available in both our POS application and our Tablet application used at the car."
