LOS ANGELES -

Auctions in Motion announced four key management moves this week,  appointing a director of operations, general managers for two of its locations and a general sales manager.

Starting with director of operations, AIM has promoted Jon Karasek to this position.

He will head up all auction operations, overseeing areas including personnel, transportation and consignment.

“The office of director of operations is critical to the smooth, efficient operation of our auctions,” said AIM president and chief executive officer George Pero.

“In addition to the five years and notable success as assistant general manager at AIM, Jon has an excellent rapport with the many constitutes of our business including clients, employees and industry professionals. Jon was the obvious standout choice for the position,” Pero continued.

Meanwhile, appointed as the general manager of AIM Pasadena is Shannon Volkov, whose most recent post was managing major group accounts for ADESA Los Angeles. His industry experience also includes time with American Suzuki Motor Corp.

“I am excited to start a new challenge with Auctions In Motion,” Volkov said. “I look forward to managing the team in Pasadena by working with each individual to support the growing demands of the industry and further compliment this auctions success.

“I am fortunate to be joining such a respected company that prides itself on teamwork and dedicates itself on providing excellent customer service,” he added.

Over at AIM Santa Ana, the company promoted Steve Rice to be the GM. He previously was assistant GM.

“Along with attracting top-industry talent outside of our company, one of our top priorities is growing AIM’s existing leadership team,” noted Pero. “Steve is already on the scene in Santa Ana and has built the depth of rapport and trust with our working relationships that is the model to our company’s core values.”

Next up, AIM revealed that it has promoted former dealer account manager Angela Sper to serve as general sales manager for the Thousand Oaks and Ventura locations. Her responsibilities include managing existing customer accounts directly, in addition to helping to support the training and strategic direction for new accounts in her region.

“The expansion of AIM’s Sales and Management team further strengthens AIM’s ability to meet the growing needs of its customers,” stated Bill Johnson, AIM chief operating officer. “We are a company committed to doing the right thing for our clients and building long-term relationships, and Angela plays a key role in the continued implementation of this vision.”
