TAMPA, Fla. -

The teaming of two auction-related companies to offer online bidding on wholesale vehicles to not only dealers, but the general public was announced this week.

On Wednesday, Coast to Coast Public Auto Auctions revealed its partnership with Proxibid, a move the companies say will allow consumers to shop for a wholesale vehicle via live and simulcast auto auctions broadcast in more than 100 countries, whether from their home, office or on the road.

A Test Drive link on Coast to Coast’s website, www.ctc-autos.com, offers a short video walk-around of each vehicle up for weekly auction, and highlights features both good and not-so-good about a vehicle, the company said.

Coast to Coast officials recommend that potential buyers check the website on Thursdays or Fridays, the days when most vehicles come in to be registered for the Saturday Weekly Auto Auction.

Potential online buyers should register with Proxibid early during the week, the company said, and should be able to view the online auction catalog by early afternoon on Fridays.

Coast to Coast Auto Auctions, which earlier this month announced the arrival of its weekly public sale in Tampa Bay, remains open as a live auction to the general public and auto dealers, the company notes, each Saturday at 10 a.m.
