eBay Motors Offers New Dealer Certified Consultant Program
As the online auto market constantly evolves, creating a non-traditional brand of buyers, a new program for dealers is designed to help meet their needs.
eBay Motors, which reports sales of more than 4.55 million new and used vehicles to date, announced Monday the launch of the eBay Motors eDealer Certified Consultant program, as an expansion of its eDealer training program.
The new product includes a curriculum designed specifically for trainers and consultants of dealer solutions providers, the company said.
“The eBay Motors’ eDealer training program has been very successful, with 3,000 franchise and independent dealers participating over the past four years,” said Clayton Stanfield, senior manager of dealer training for eBay Motors.
“eBay provides dealers with much more than a marketplace to sell vehicles and parts. We are also committed to providing education and resources to dealers and the solution providers that support them,” Stanfield said. “eBay understands how important the relationship between dealers and service providers is, and this program is designed to help make this relationship a smooth and successful one.”
The invitation-only eDealer Certified Consultant program is available to trainers and consultants selected by eBay based on industry experience, community feedback and alignment with eBay values and standards.
Those participating in the program will complete a series of online courses meant to provide the tools and knowledge they need to become successful dealer partners and achievers in the eBay automotive business, the company said.
The five-chapter online training course is followed by a completion exam; successful participants then receive an eBay Motors eDealer certified logo for use on dealer website; promotional materials; inclusion on the eBay Motors Dealer Hub page, which displays certified consultants; and a certificate signifying certified status.
Following initial certification, dealer consultants and trainers receive continued support in one-on-one time with eBay trainers, the company said, and learn how to teach best practices to others. They also take an annual class to renew their certification.
