Two Auctions to Begin Selling Government Vehicles
As detailed in announcements made this week, the list of auctions that have secured contacts through the General Services Administration to sell government vehicles continues to grow.
In the central Florida market, Sanford Auto Dealers Exchange is the most recent addition to GSA’s list of ServNet auction partners, which now includes 15 ServNet auctions throughout the U.S., officials noted.
"We are very pleased to be chosen by GSA to sell their vehicles in central Florida," said SADE owner Michael Tumminello.
"We look forward to welcoming many of the dealers who visit us at our regular sale every week, in addition to public buyers in the area,” he added.
Highlighting its plans in further detail, the auction — located 70 miles north of Orlando — will hold monthly sales for the government vehicles, scheduled every second Tuesday of the month at 11 a.m. (EST). These will be held directly before the auction’s regular consignment sales, which are held every Tuesday at 2 p.m.
The event will be open to public buyers in addition to auto dealers, the company noted, and the first one is on tap for Aug. 14.
"For some attending the GSA sale, this will be their first visit to an auction," said Tumminello. "They can be assured that our staff at SADE is here to help, ready to answer their questions and to guide them through the auction process. We want to make sure that every SADE customer, whether a veteran car dealer or a new public buyer, has a great experience at every SADE sale event."
What will the inaugural government vehicle auction for SADE have on tap?
Tumminello noted that he expects the first GSA sale in August will include 150–200 cars, trucks and SUV’s. Furthermore, interested buyers can also go online to check out the vehicles, which will be available via Pipeline Simulcast.
New GSA Sales at Central Georgia Auction
Next up, Perry’s Auto Auction, located in Swainsboro, Ga., will be offering government vehicle auctions now, as well.
“Perry’s Auto Auction is pleased to announce the addition of GSA to its list of consignors,” officials noted.
According to owner Kelvin Thompson, Perry’s will conduct its first GSA sale on Aug. 16, at 1 p.m.
“Dealers and consumers should expect a full assortment of sedans, trucks, SUV’s, vans, buses and trailers. These vehicles have been serviced regularly and maintained by GSA Fleet to ensure a high quality, well-conditioned vehicle,” Thompson shared.
And the new GSA sales is not the only thing the auction and its staff have on tap for August.
Thompson also indicated the auction will celebrate its fifth anniversary on August 9th under new ownership.
The sale will include consignments from several partners, including Enterprise Holdings, Georgia Power, Leaseplan and ARI, along with numerous local and regional dealers, officials explained.
Lastly, the auction noted that it will simulcast all sales and “encourages interested dealers to register early.”
